### Can I search inside many PDFs at once?
Yes. CavaPdf indexes every page of every PDF in the folders you choose and searches them all at once. Results appear in a few milliseconds and each one opens at the matching page.

### Is there a PDF search tool that works offline?
CavaPdf runs entirely on your computer. It needs no account, no internet connection and uploads nothing, so it works on a plane or on a locked-down network.

### Can it search scanned PDFs?
Yes. Pages that are only images are read with built-in text recognition, locally, and become searchable as they finish. Text pages are searchable immediately.

### Does it find a word if I misspell it or use a different phrase?
Yes. Typos still match, and an optional search-by-meaning mode finds pages that talk about the same thing in different words, for example "microcontroller datasheet".

### Which systems does it run on?
Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon, and 64-bit Linux desktops. It is a portable download: unzip and run.

### Is CavaPdf free?
Yes. It is free, has no paid tier and no ads. Optional donations keep it current with new operating system releases and fund requested features.

### Does it send my documents or searches anywhere?
No. Your files and your index stay on your computer. There is no telemetry. The app only asks this website for the latest version number at startup, which you choose on first launch and can change in Settings.
